The summer holidays are always a busy time for our holiday forest schools, with this summer being no exception.  Many of our programmes are booked up but there are currently spaces  available on the following three dates:

• Saltaire 10 - 12 August
• Ilkley 18 - 19 August
• St Ives 23 - 24 August

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter our Anniversary Awards which celebrated our tenth birthday.  We loved reading all the entries, which gave a truly glowing account of your experiences with Get Out More over the years; it was a real privilege reading them.  After tricky selection process voted on by staff, we are pleased to say that all winners have been contacted, and prizes are either given out or arranged!

The prizes included training bursaries, community donations, organisational well-being days and places in our holiday forest schools this summer - in total worth over £5000!

Our Wellbeing Wednesday group at Cliffe Castle has been a great success in the lead-up to summer, as we've teamed up with local providers for the weekly sessions, including Tai Chi with Truly Essential and Holistic Tai Chi, Dru Yoga with Rachel Shaw of Earthed Yoga and nature photography with the fantastic Lisa Holmes Photography.

As we get towards the summer holidays, we will be winding down our Wellbeing Wednesday group for the break, but we look forward to returning in September

Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network were an organisation looking for a team away day together after two years of remote working.  Get Out More were thrilled to team up with Within the Wood and Howl Bushcraft  to provide the setting and activities for their team of 65 employees.  After an afternoon of bushcraft, axe throwing and wellbeing activities, YHAHSN found they were more connected as an organisation, new bonds between staff members were made and new-starters felt like a real part of the team!

After a successful first year of the Holidays Activities and Food programme, we are delighted to be selected by Bradford Council to continue programmes for the next three years. The fund enables children on Free School Meals to access quality activities during the holidays, so they don't miss out on positive fun experiences.   

Be sure to keep an eye out for a number of activities for children and families in Keighley, including days out to Bolton Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales, woodland sessions and lots of campfire cooking!

Our regular Forest School Play Project family sessions in Bradford parks will be winding down for the summer holidays too, but do watch out for more day trips over the holidays. A  recent Dads and Kids trip to Ilkley Riverside park was a fantastic turnout, with children and parents alike discovering new places!
