Shipley Breathing Spaces has been running through the spring and we have had a great time meeting new people and getting to know Hirst Wood, enjoying the sights and sounds of the woodland and getting creative to improve our wellbeing.  This programme of walks for adults will be coming to an end this month, so if you would like to come and see off Shipley Breathing Spaces this summer, come along on a Friday 10.30AM - 12.30 PM.

Wellbeing Wednesday at Cliffe Castle continues to be a hit, attracting new attendees and regulars alike.  We have especially enjoyed seeing the change in Cliffe Castle as the seasons have progressed.  Practitioner Hazel noticed an intriguing tree called the "Handkerchief tree", why not book your free place from 1PM - 3PM Wednesday term-time to see if you can spot it for yourself!

Our Outdoor Taskforce volunteer group have been hard at work improving local green spaces including some spring gardening. We are looking forward to July where we will be pulling up invasive Himalayan Balsam with the River Worth Friends, and dry stone walling in Park Wood with the Otley & Wharfedale Dry Stone Walling Association.  If you would like to come along, then follow the link below.

We are delighted to welcome Sue Barker to the team who joins us as a Project Coordinator.  You can see Sue working across the Better Start and All for Play programmes as well as leading the Wellbeing projects at Cliffe Castle. We first met Sue as a trainee on one of our programmes, so its great to have her now on the team.

However, we are also saying goodbye and a massive thank you to Julia Babbitt who leaves us after 5 years working on our Wellbeing projects and as a fantastic forest school leader.  We wish Julia the best of success in her new role as Active Travel Coordinator.

Twenty more people have completed their forest school level 1 training with Get Out More so far this year, including those pictured enjoying cooking in the sunshine in the woods this week. More courses will follow in Keighley and Bradford soon

From 2024, Get Out More will also be training people to become Level 3 qualified forest school leaders.  We believe its the only course on offer in the whole West Yorkshire area, so if you are interested in running or supporting forest schools, register your interest in our training with us today
